Construction on Spare Time Entertainment’s Omaha Location is Complete.
In the heart of West Omaha at 172nd and Center Streets, the former Gordmans department store is now home to Spare Time Entertainment’s newest location. As the dust settled and the paint dried, the vibrant energy of this family-fun facility came to life.
An Entertainment Destination
The 50,000-square-feet space has transformed into a luxury bowling alley, complete with 14 open bowling lanes and eight VIP lanes. The games and arcade zone spans 4,000 square feet and boasts new games such as Mario Kart, basketball and Virtual Reality. The area has already been buzzing with activity since its opening Nov 30, 2023. From the flashing lights of arcade classics to the immersive experiences of laser tag and escape rooms, Spare Time Entertainment is a haven for families seeking a night out that offers something for everyone.
In addition to the games and activities, the Omaha Spare Time Entertainment venue features a 1,376-square-foot conference room for gatherings and special events, as well as a 1,780-square-foot restaurant and bar with chef-crafted dishes and signature cocktails. It truly is a complete entertainment destination.
“It is our hope that Spare Time brings an experience to the West Omaha area that’s second to none,” explained Tim McGinley, owner of Spare Time Entertainment. “With everything we offer, we hope every guest has a very enjoyable and fun time. Between the unique bowling experience, laser tag, cool escape rooms, large game room, and great food and drinks there’s no shortage of fun to be had.”
Building Luxury
Construction on the project began in March 2023 and took about seven months to complete. After pouring concrete and framing, wood flooring was installed for the bowling alley. Lighting was installed at multiple phases of the project, including the aesthetic water feature in the center of it all. From the hand-painted laser tag room to the custom-cut bar, Ronco’s team worked diligently to meet the highest standards of luxury and functionality the project owners were expecting. Ronco’s attention to detail is evident in the craftsmanship throughout the space.
“The project construction went really well, and it’s been nice having a great ownership group to work with,” shared Jim Bracker, the Ronco Project Manager. “As with any construction project, there were a few changes, but we worked together with them to make their vision happen. For me, this project has been a nice change of pace from the multi-family projects I’ve worked on recently. I definitely hope we get another opportunity with this group.”
