Position: Senior superintendent
Location: Kansas city, mo

About You
You’re the first face people see when they visit the construction site — you’re the lifeblood of the site. Using your organization, communication and delegation skills, you’re the master at coordinating all onsite activity on the jobsite. You care and interact with everyone onsite from subcontractors and construction workers to trade partners and owners to the project team and internal stakeholders. You expertly know the construction industry and trade, can lend an empathetic ear or provide a motivational nudge, and are passionate about keeping safety and quality above all else. You have an eye for detail and a proactive approach to work that ensures project objectives and goals are upheld. If multiple personalities are your thing — a leader, a delegator, a babysitter, a cheerleader, a herder, a construction worker and more — then a construction superintendent is for you.

Role and Responsibilities
As a senior superintendent at Ronco Construction, you’re the primary presence on the construction project site. From developing and managing daily schedules to coordinating and supervising subcontractors and construction work, to ensuring quality and safety throughout, you’re the force that moves the project forward. With the support of a dynamic project team, you can manage the day-to-day operations on the construction site, ensuring the work is carried out according to the project’s schedule and within its budget. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following, as other duties may be assigned:

  • Major contributor and onsite coordinator of project planning and execution including the master and five-week schedule, manpower, material handling, storage requirements and equipment use.
  • Plan, lead and coordinate project activation activities, including policies and procedures, site mobilization, outline performance and quality standards, and set safety expectation.
  • Maintain an accurate and detailed project schedule, prepare and distribute monthly updates and look-ahead schedules, and ensure subcontractors maintain job momentum and adhere to schedule timelines.
  • Implement and manage the Ronco safety program and daily safety inspections to create safe and healthy job site and adhere to Ronco and OSHA record keeping requirements.
  • Coordinate, understand and enforce subcontractor assignment and scope of work. Manage productivity issues and monitor work performance and productivity of all project work.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and communicate with project team and executive leadership. Provide and suggest solutions to potential issues as needed.
  • Interface with project stakeholders including owner, architect, engineer(s), design professionals and municipalities to ensure compliance to design intent and owner satisfaction.
  • Organize and facilitate regular progress meetings including installation meetings, subcontractor meetings, OAC, etc. with applicable project stakeholders and subcontractors.
  • Document and manage internal and external document and record keeping requirements, to include accurate daily logs, photos and inspections, as well as required legal, safety and manpower documentation.
  • Act as the quality assurance and control liaison to ensure construction complies with plans, specifications and company quality standards.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
  • Assist with close-out process including punch list walk and process, close-out documents (including as-built drawings) and performing building commissioning and owner training.
  • Act as a leader and mentor, sharing expertise to develop project team members and field staff.

Requirements
You’re ready to contribute to the work and culture of leading and growing construction company, in that:

  • You have at least 10 years of experience as a construction project superintendent or equivalent role, managing constructions with contract values of $10M-35M. Experience with multi-family projects is ideal.
  • You have a strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations and requirements.
  • You have at a minimum the OSHA 10-hour certification (a copy of your card is required), an OSHA 30-hour is preferred. First aid/CPR certification is a plus.
  • You’re proficient with a computer and applicable software programs, including experience with the Microsoft Office suite, Procore, Bluebeam and Microsoft Project.
  • You have a working knowledge of estimating and project accounting processes as it relates to site and field reporting, as well as the ability to read and comprehend plans and specifications.
  • You’re able to lift at least 30 pounds.
  • You have working knowledge and basic understanding of construction activities, including carpentry and operating various types of construction equipment.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You’re a people person and can build relationships with a variety of people including coworkers, clients, subcontractors, field staff and others.
  • You’re self-motivated and proactive, accomplishing tasks without direct supervision.

Position: Project engineer
Location: Kansas city, mo

About You
Are you organized and have a keen eye for specifics? Are you good at ensuring tasks get done and information is received when requested? Does the idea of coordinating people, materials and information — all necessary for a successful build — sound like fun? Do you enjoy a hybrid work environment between the field and the office? If you’re a self-starter, who can take the initiative to coordinate, communicate and ensure safe work, turning plans into reality, then a project engineer role might be perfect.

Role and Responsibilities
As a project engineer at Ronco Construction, you’re the right hand for the project manager and superintendent throughout the entire project. As the go-to person for organizing and planning, you leverage your experience and eye for detail to make the entire project team has what they need to stay on track. It’s your job to act as a liaison, ensuring smooth communication between the field and the office. You’re also a key player when it comes to coordinating, communicating, and managing subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other trade partners. You achieve success through the following:

  • Assist and support the project team throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Manage and maintain project documentation including schedules, RFIs, ASIs, and submittals, as well as assist with change order management.
  • Coordinate and communicate with project stakeholders including architects, engineers, partners and subcontractors to ensure timely information is received and provided accordingly.
  • Serve as a point of contact for project stakeholders including architects, engineers, partners and subcontractors.
  • Prepare, participate and document project coordination meetings.
  • Create, organize and distribute project closeout documents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position: Preconstruction manager
Location: Kansas city, mo

About You
Do you enjoy numbers and analyzing market conditions? Is your eye for detail unmatched? If so, this is the job for you. As a preconstruction manager, it’s your job to coordinate preconstruction services and prepare budgets and estimates for projects ranging from $1M to $80M. Your primary responsibilities are to collect and analyze market conditions to create detailed, accurate estimates. You need to be organized and creative, and not afraid to dig deeper to fully understand the project scope.

Role and Responsibilities
As the preconstruction manager at Ronco Construction, it’s your primary responsibility to analyze and interpret project information to create and assemble budgets, bids, and proposals. You play a pivotal role in a project’s success by preparing comprehensive, accurate bids that win work and contribute to on-budget projects. Your responsibilities include the following:

  • Review and analyze bid documents and plan packages for scope and understanding.
  • Participate in design development meetings and preliminary site inspections.
  • Solicit and manage subcontractor bid collection using a variety of tools including email, software platforms and phone calls.
  • Assist with maintaining the subcontractor bid database through research and vetting current and new subcontractors for the Midwest.
  • Create construction timeline and schedules, in line with project parameters.
  • Prepare detailed estimates by completing quantity take-offs, analysis, estimate input, and research at all stages of the preconstruction phase. 
  • Research and provide value engineering, design review, risk mitigation and constructability analysis to ensure the best and most cost-effective strategies are used.
  • Maintain and communicate data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs.
  • Prepare, present and communicate detailed estimates to executive management and clients.
  • Review and assist with proposals and other documentation to prepare cost estimates for various projects.
  • Build and develop effective relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other trade partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
