Historic preservation construction project of the Chieftain Hotel, originally built in 1927 and located across from Baylis Park in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The 73,000 SF eight-story building, now known as Bluffs Towers Apartments, has residential units on floors three through eight, with commercial space on the first two floors. While maintaining the historic fabric of the building, 70 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, ranging in size from 314 to 868 SF, were remodeled with new fixtures, cabinets, countertops and appliances. The building also has multiple community spaces, a fitness area, storage units and onsite laundry. Floors one and two showcase many decorative plaster features restored to their original form. The building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2014.
