This historic preservation construction project is for the Omaha Public Library Downtown Branch. Located at 1401 Jones Street, the landmark David Cole Creamery building was originally constructed in 1912. The building is 42,000 SF, with the library occupying 30,000 SF across the top two floors for the downtown branch. The new location provides similar services as the original W. Dale Clark library, including material checkout, meeting space and computer access. While maintaining the historic integrity of the building, the restoration included new windows and doors, new elevator, new electrical service, new roof, updated utilities, exterior masonry restoration, as well as reconfigured parking and building entry.
